The apology, the mission call, new roommates, and the farewell date.

First off I would like to say I'm sorry for all the pain that I have caused you these past six months. Thank you for the awesome example you have always been to me. You have the strongest testimony that I have always marveled at.

If you haven't heard yet I've been called to serve the people of Dallas Texas. Things are going pretty good back there in Happy Valley. Bob, Adam, Mark, and I have moved into a little house down by the hospital. It's pretty fun. I'm surprised at the difference I've seen in Bob and Adam that I haven't noticed before. Some we stay up late just talking about things that we have learned about this gospel in preparing for missions. Mark is kind of struggling but I think our examples are rubbing of on him. Please pray for him.. He is thinking more of girls that anything else.

I hope your having fun down there in sunnyville. It's been record heat up here forever. Deer Creak is really low - Don't surf the waves too much.

About These Letters:

Brad served his mission in Dallas Texas from October 2002 to August 2004 (coming home one transfer early to start classes at UVSC). During that time I went to BYU and spent my summers in California with my parents.

Brad and I broke up during our senior year of high school and only saw each other a couple of times after high school graduation before he left on his mission. Because of this we had never talked about writing while he was on his mission and I actually didn't think it was going to happen at all. I was pleasantly surprised by a letter from Brad the first week that he was in the MTC. I was still a little skeptical, predicting that Brad was just excited about being on his mission and writing letters and that it would slowly die out. Amazingly enough Brad wrote me nearly every week of his mission. I'm pleased to say that I received about 95 letters from him (his mission was about 98 weeks long). Isn't that amazing? The other amazing thing is that as you can see in these letters we kept things very uplifting and appropriate in our letters which helped Brad be a better, more focused missionary and helped me live a normal college girl life while he was gone.

Near the beginning of his mission (once I realized that Brad was going to keep writing me), I wanted to make sure that Brad was the one setting the frequency of our letters. I decided the best way to do this was to wait until I had two letters from him before I mailed him one from me. This meant that he had to write me a letter and then write me again without having received a letter from me, that shows true dedication. One thing to note about this decision is that Brad did not know that this is what I was doing and, as you can see, he still wrote me his whole mission. What an amazing man and a missionary!

One thing we figured out shortly after getting married was that we "fell in love" physically and mentally in high school and then we fell in love spiritually on his mission. Because of this unique opportunity we had to share our lives through letters for these two years and bear our testimonies to one another over and over and over we were able to connect in every way. This may explain to people why we were so ready to get married only four months after he returned from his mission and why we are so happy and such a great match for each other.
